6U RULES

2026 6U Rules

Please follow these rules so we can maintain fair play and ensure all kids have a positive experience with the game. All players must have their own glove, helmet and bat.

  1. Each team will field all players per inning (no catcher).

  2. A half hour practice should be before each game – with drills taken from the Baseball Canada Rally Cap book – white and grey hat drills are appropriate for this age group.

  3. After practice – start the game. Each game should consist of a maximum of 2 innings. Games should take about a half hour. If time permits, coaches can play longer.

  4. All batters will bat every inning.  There are no outs.

  5. The last batter can run ALL the bases.

  6. The T is to be used for players to bat.

  7. Teams will use the soft foam baseballs – no real baseballs should be used (for player safety).

  8. Students will paint the following on the field.

    • All four lines to complete the diamond

      • Home to 1st

      • 1st to 2nd

      • 2nd to 3rd

      • 3rd to Home

    • An arch in front of home plate. If a player hits a ball in this area – they should bat again

    • An arch from 1st to 3rd – this is the line in which to position the defense on

    • Lines from home to the line (pie shape) players on the line should only try to get the ball that is in their “pie” piece.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!
